Unusual stand alone rock formation of considerable size and beauty. It’s nicely lit after sunset creating the perfect scene for a chilled out evening in the adjacent outdoors lounge.

Al Ula shares a good view of a canyon and rock formations in a desert. It is amazing to see and imagine just how did these rocky mountains were formed. One of them is the elephant rock. The surrounding place also shares a lot of good view. Al ula is a must visit.

This sandstone rock formation is enchanting and will clearly get busier with tourists in the next several years. We were happy to arrive a couple hours before sunset and enjoy the late afternoon from one of their sunken tables. This arrangement of gathering spaces means the views of the rock are less obstructed.
Make sure you capture the elephant from different angles!
There is a parking area about 100m from the rock with a boardwalk to a few cafes. Very clean toilets are available, too.

The rock formation is one of a kind and never to be seen elsewhere.
It is accessible by any car, not necessarily requiring 4x4.
Government has created free parking slots, public toilets.
Entrance is free.
Good lighting is there in the night time. But it is also a little cold due to open mountain.
Snacks are available on site. No restaurants though.
A must see place once.
