Il postino is a famous Italian pizza shop that claims to serve authentic Neapolitan pizza using authentic ingredients and processes.
The menu is small with only a handful of pizza types , a couple of salads as sides and that’s about it. This actually adds tremendous pressure on the restaurant to deliver and the slightest mistake would be magnified. For that, I felt the pizza did not come out as good as it should have. There were issues with over-saucing, too many dark spots on the crust and the underside, mediocre raw ingredients, and finally, the dough itself is a bit chewy and not fully developed.
Service was a bit weird. I’ve noticed many reviews mentioning comments on the service quality and I have to agree. They lacked enthusiasm and were dull. However , they are simply young kids without proper training, so they can’t be blamed. But management needs to provide better training.
The positive news is the prices, they managed to undercut similar authentic Italian pizzerias by at least 20-30%. So , if price is a factor, this place would make you happy.
