Description

Plank Sourdough Pizza, located at Riyadh Front, specializes in baking artisan pizzas with the freshest ingredients within specially manufactured kilns. The first-ever branch of this brand was founded in 2015 by famed baker Mr. Dean Brettschneider and today has spots in different locations, including Saudi Arabia, America, and Singapore.

The interior is casual, like a regular eatery. The setting includes large sofa-like chairs on either side and a row of tables with chairs down the middle. Although Plank does not offer an upper floor, the pizzeria still comes with a large outdoor terrace that stares out onto the Riyadh Front Shopping Center.

The menu at Plank offers guests a wide range of items aside from pizza, including pasta, meat dishes, salads, and a handful of sides and appetizers. The style of preparation here is unique, just as is the taste. A single mouthful will have you wondering where this sort of taste was your whole life.

First of all, there is no contact number to make reservations! So if you have a special occasion or invited guests you have to go and wait there!! So I searched for a contact number and I got one in some adv webs in google but it was closed! So I contacted them in instagram direct message to reserve a table with simple special request ( to write Happy Anniversary on the plate of dessert) but they said “No we are not offering this kind of service!” So I canceled this place and then I called another Italian restaurant which they welcomed me and agreed about all my requests and talked to me professionally. I’m disappointed and will not visit this place.

I’ve heard good things about this restaurant and it sure did deliver, one of the best italian restaurants in Riyadh, highly recommend but prices are considerably high. We ordered: Caesar Salad 8/10 Buratta 8/10 Blanca Pizza 10/10 Margarita Pizza 8/10 Pink Ravioli 6/10 Saffron Risotto Chicken 9/10 Arncaini Truffle 8/10 Tiramisu 9/10 Nutella Calzone 9/10 Crème Brûlée 8/10

I went to Blanca on my daughter’s birthday, we had the fruity burrata salad, eggplant lasagna, saffron shrimp risotto and the pink pasta. The food was exceptional and the service is soooooo nice especially Hisham he was so neat and welcoming, I recommend setting outside the location near the fountain makes the weather lovely. Highly recommended

Overall, the food is good but I expected more. The Buratta salad was average, lacking in flavor. We tried 4 types of pizzas and I can safely say the Brisket pizza was amazing. The other types were average. The Truffle pizza was disappointing. The Saffron chicken risotto did not live up to my expectations and I did not like the Penne Arabiata at all. The other highlight of the menu was the Spaghetti Eggplant rolls, they were amazing. In general, average for an Italian restaurant but I will give it another chance and try more items on the menu. One drawback of the place is the slow/dry service. The waiters were slow to respond and failed to maintain proper checking on the table. Another thing I did not like is the use of plastic cups and plastic cutlery which kinda ruins your experience of fine Italian dining. Many improvements are needed to elevate this joint!!
