My recent experience at this hotel was disappointing, as it significantly deviated from what was advertised. Here are the main issues I encountered: 1. **Misleading Star Rating**: The hotel is marketed as a 4-star establishment, but it lacks the expected amenities and service quality of this rating. 2. **Distance from Haram and Steep Hill**: The hotel is not as close to Haram as advertised. It's situated on a steep hill, which makes the walk challenging. The shortest route is a 15-minute walk to the Haram gate. 3. **Golf Cart Service Issue**: While the hotel provides a golf cart service for navigating the steep hill, it inconveniently takes you away from Haram, which is counterproductive for guests intending to visit Haram. 4. **Aging Infrastructure**: The hotel's facilities are outdated and in urgent need of renovation. 5. **Small Bathrooms**: The bathrooms are uncomfortably small and lack bathtubs, which is a notable drawback. 6. **No Breakfast**: The absence of breakfast service is a considerable inconvenience for travelers. 7. **Incompatible Power Outlets**: For those traveling from the USA, be aware that your plugs will not work, and the hotel does not offer converters. 8. **Noise Levels**: The rooms are highly susceptible to noise from traffic and horns, making for a disturbed stay. In summary, this hotel requires significant renovation to bring it up to its advertised standards. Currently, I cannot recommend it for a comfortable or convenient stay.

My family experience at Elaf Ajyad hotel in Makkah left much to be desired. Firstly, the accessibility to the hotel is quite challenging, especially for the elderly or those in need of special care. The steep and difficult road to the hotel can be particularly taxing, especially after performing Umrah. While the hotel does offer a free buggy service, it's not consistently available. The rooms themselves are quite basic, and it's clear that the hotel lacks regular maintenance. We encountered a significant issue with our room door lock, which took over an hour to resolve, requiring a specialized mechanic to intervene. The bathrooms in the hotel are also disappointingly small and emit unpleasant odors. I would strongly advise against choosing this hotel for families with young children or elderly individuals. In summary, my experience at Elaf Ajyad hotel was marred by accessibility challenges, basic rooms, maintenance issues, and subpar bathroom conditions. It's not a suitable choice for families with young children or elderly guests.

Great hotel close by to Masjid Al Haram and the shops. Just need to note that it is on top of a steep hill, which can be an issue for some people. There are, however, carts owned by the hotel that will take you up and down to alleviate this, but they are not always ready.

You should be able to climb a mountain and have good ❤️ heart and health to reach the hotel. Never go if you have a guest with special needs. So hard to control a wheelchair ♿️ going up or down
