This was our first hotel in sultan ahmet and I must say it was spectacular. Service was very good, staff were very kind and welcoming. We needed an extra bed for our child and they provided a mattress, and even went as far as to offer to upgrade us to a bigger room the next day, free of charge.
Breakfast was very good, and was more than enough for all kinds of people with different dietary requirements. But most of all, the view from the terrace while eating breakfast was what made it quite the experience. It's so peaceful and soothing.
As for the room, the furniture was a little old. But that is not to say it was well maintained. Room was clean and had all the necessities. Bathroom had constant water leaking from the bum washer(sorry, I don't know what it's called), but if you tighten it hard enough (and I mean hard enough), it stops. But here's what surprised me. They even had a heated bathroom floor! They also had a plenty good supply of towels etc.
As for the location. It is THE perfect location if you want to visit every thing in sultan ahmet. All the major attractions are a 5-15 mins walk, that too with little to no climbing. The sultan ahmet square is a mere 7 mins walk. There are also plenty of resturants right infront of the hotel, albeit super expensive compared to normal rates.
This hotel, when we booked was super affordable, and I must say if we ever come to Istanbul again, we are staying here again 100%. Highly recommend.
