Haven’t seen a TGI Fridays in many years so was very surprised to see one in the Red Sea Mall. Turns out there are several in Jeddah. Like other major American brands this company is hosted and licensed by another company but follows the TGI standard quite well.
The service here was a little awkward, in most Fridays the servers are very energetic and happy to be there, here, it felt like they were scared to talk to you. Hard to explain.
The prices of their food is quite expensive, much more than expected and seemingly out of line compared to other places to eat in Jeddah. Saw several tables come in, look at the menu and then leave muttering about the prices. We decided to stick it through though as I was curious about the food.
Had the Potato Twisters, Sizzling Fajitas and tacos. The potato twisters was interesting, fresh potato chips smothered in cheese sauce and salsa. This turned out to be the best thing of the three. The tacos were meh and the fajitas were just plain wrong. Has more of a taste of Asian, with overwhelming spicy soy sauce taste than anything else, not pleasant.
Learned my lesson, I won’t be back and I can’t recommend this place. Cost us SAR 260 for this meal (£56) (CAD$95) and which is the most I’ve spent eating out in SA to date with sub par food.
