Wonderful garden and it feels very Japanese with the vibe and rich tradition and culture stuff. Food however was rather average to the extent that I wouldn’t want to try again even with much lower price. Ive tried many Japanese food and tbh I really can’t appreciate food from Hyotei, let alone that it costs more than 900usd for two people. It’s all very plain raw product, nothing fancy. And the taste is really just average, either raw with not much taste, or too salty. And there’s a lot of potato and radish dish, I mean, it’s 900+ USD Michelin 3 star, I would expect food to be really impressive or al least made from some exquisite materials?The room was also quite cold during this time, plus most of the food is served cold, and the duration for lunch was dragged till 2 hours, it was quite freezing till the end. Overall it’s not a great experience despite friendly staff. Makes me wonder how were they awarded 3stars.
