Wadi Tayyib Al Ism - Tabuk Province

4.3Reviews

Description

Wadi Tayyib Al Ism is one of the many natural wonders of Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Nestled in the middle of the mountains, this valley is located in the Tabuk province, on the Gulf of Aqaba. It is also known as the ‘Valley of Moses’ because it is where he spent ten years in voluntary exile after fleeing from Egypt.

Landscape

One of the unique features of this valley is that it has the best of both worlds as it consists of mountains as well as the sea with the beachside road. The Red Sea near Maqna is a popular scuba diving site because of its pristine coral reefs. People who want to spend a day at the beachside can go and sit in the white sand and enjoy the turquoise waves while admiring the giant rocks that surround the valley.

Trip to the Wadi

If you’re visiting the valley, you should get a permit and a tour guide, both of which you will find in Sharma town. There are no facilities or shops in Wadi, which is why you should take food and drinks along with you. It is also important to check if the valley is open for visitors in order to avoid any inconvenience. Walking among these sandy hills, water springs, and rock formations is truly an experience of a lifetime that you do not want to miss.

Natural beauty and wonder. A great place for an early morning hike, as the valley walks will keep you in the shade until midday. If there is a bit of wind when you visit, you may find a cool and refreshing breeze comes in to the valley from the Red Sea. There is stream (a river in millennia past) that comes and goes along the narrow channel in the mountains, attracting birds and other wildlife. This place is very natural and there are many green spaces along the way with trees and bushes and grasses. Be sure to bring water and some food, and also, keep an eye out for snakes in the streamside rocks.

This is our second attempt to go to this place and it's worth a wait. We went there late in the morning so we just walk for 30 mins and it's just 1/3 of the valley. It is a 20 km for 2 hours hike from the entrance to the end of the valley. It is also called the "Valley of Moses" where he spent ten years after fleeing from Egypt according to the websites if you will search about it. It is worth of adventure because of the beach and mountains. Best to go early in the morning, and if you are tourist best to have an access from NEOM for this place is historical and protected. Better to have some food and water if your planning to go for a walk. This is such a nice place to visit because of its historical value and it's a once in a lifetime adventure you don't want to miss.
