The roads to these mountains often rise above the clouds in a spectacular fashion and the steep slopes also make it an ideal area for hiking. Al-Absiyya is the highest peak in the Fayfa mountain range that towers over the beautiful green fields and farms.

The Village

The village of Fayfa hosts cylindrical mountain houses that are unique to this region. The locals have a tradition of giving each house a nickname and calling the owner of the house by the same name. The locals also have a unique dialect that originates from ancient literary Arabic which has evolved through the influence of the Himyarite language. The climate in the village is mild all year long, making it an ideal place for agriculture which is the main source of income for the locals.

A peaceful and enriched natural place with greenery and beautiful views. The roads are very adventurous recommended a good vehicle 🚗 there is some sharp turns . Recommend time is sunset and full moon evenings. There is no nearest market so bring your stuff with you. Its recommended place for family and friends gathering.

What tourism you promote when the place is closed 9 out of 12 months in a year and there is literally no way to find out before reaching the place. So we booked a hotel close to hanging village of Habala, stayed the night here , drove to the place in the morning, wasting that time that could have been to drive back to riyadh, and after reaching find out it’s closed. Google maps showed it will open at 10 am ( incorrect info), those in charge of promoting tourism really need to disseminate better information to save people the trouble of driving all the way out in the wilderness to find out it’s closed
